Discovery Dives are for beginners with no experience. A professional instructor guides you through the entire process.

Certified Dives are for divers who already have an Open Water certification or higher and want to explore deeper sites.

Glasses cannot be worn while diving, but contacts are perfectly fine and recommended for the best experience. Prescription masks are not available for rent, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Additionally, there is an automatic correction effect that occurs underwater due to light refraction, making things appear clearer, but contacts or a personal prescription mask will provide the best visibility.

Discovery Dives go to a maximum depth of 15 feet in shallow, calm water.

Certified divers typically dive between 30 and 60 feet, with deeper dives available.

We do not have a set weight limit, but divers must be reasonably mobile and fit into our gear. If you have concerns, contact us before booking.

It is completely normal to feel nervous. Our instructors will help you relax and get comfortable, guiding you through breathing techniques before descending.

To reduce the risk of decompression sickness (DCS), it is recommended that you wait before flying after diving:

  • After a single no-decompression dive: Wait at least 12 hours before flying.
  • After multiple dives or multiple days of diving: Wait at least 18 hours before flying.
  • After a dive that required decompression stops: Wait at least 24 hours before flying.

Flying too soon after diving can increase the risk of nitrogen bubbles forming in your bloodstream, leading to DCS (commonly known as "the bends"). For the safest experience, consider waiting a full 24 hours after your last dive before boarding a plane.

While we don’t offer group discounts, we do ensure that every diver gets personalized attention and a top-tier experience. Larger groups require extra instructors to maintain our high safety and service standards, so we recommend booking early to secure availability.

PADI vs. SSI: Which Certification is Right for You?

At Aquatica Underwater Adventures, we offer both PADI and SSI Open Water Diver certifications, giving you the flexibility to choose the training agency that best fits your needs. Both certifications are internationally recognized and allow you to dive up to 60 feet (18 meters) worldwide. The main difference comes down to personal preference and training style.

What’s the Difference Between PADI and SSI?

Both programs cover the same essential scuba skills, ensuring you receive high-quality training that prepares you for a lifetime of diving. However, the way the courses are structured differs slightly:

  • PADI follows a more standardized approach with performance-based milestones.
  • SSI offers a more flexible learning experience that allows students to progress at their own pace.
  • Both certifications are equally recognized at dive shops and resorts worldwide.

Choosing the Right Certification for You

Your choice between PADI and SSI may come down to factors like learning style, pricing, and personal preference. No matter which program you choose, you’ll receive expert instruction, small class sizes, and a fun, hands-on learning experience.

Still Have Questions?

We’re happy to help you decide which certification best suits your goals. No matter which path you take, our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way.
